If the host allows foreigners to rent housing , they must notify TM. 30 which is necessary
when extending the visa must show the notification to the officers.
T.M. 30 is a notification that foreigners are renting a place to live in. They must notify within 24 hours after entering to Thailand. When there is a change of residence, the host needs to notify T.M. 30 every time. This is a law (immigration law, Article 38) that has been in existence since the past, but has only recently been subjected to rigorous inspections, but most landlords have not notified T.M. 30. In 2016, Pattaya and Chiang Mai began to enforce it in earnest. In Bangkok, it just started to be used in earnest in 2019.
When renewing all types of visas, must have evidence of informing T.M. 30. If not notified or not notified as scheduled (within 24 hours after entering the country), there will be a fine of 800 baht per person.
